NEUTROGENA VISIBLY CLEAR BLACKHEAD ELIMINATING CLEANSER|| REVIEW

Hello! After a hectic, to say the least, week I'm finally home and have some free time so I decided to sit down and write a few posts. A few weeks ago I run out of my usual blackhead clearing scrub and instead of repurchasing the same one I decided to try something new. I went to Boots and picked up Neutrogena's Visibly Clear Blackhead Eliminating Cleanser

First of all, let me tell you, I have tried thousands of scrubs/masks/ cleansers to get rid of blackheads and whilst most of them left my skin feeling really soft and nice none of them got rid of most of my blackheads so my expectations for this product weren't really high.
What I love about it is that it can be used as both a daily scrub and a mask. So you can either apply it as a regular scrub or leave it on your face for a few minutes until it hardens and then remove it. It claims to visibly remove blackheads in a week but I wouldn't say that's 100% true. I use it as a scrub every day and as a mask once a week and after a week my skin wasn't that much clearer. However, give it another week and then results become visible.
Out of all the scrubs and cleansers I have tried this is definitely the best one and I think I'll stick to it until I find something better. At only £4.99 I think it's worth it and would definitely recommend it. And in case you are interested there's an offer of 2 for £5 on Neutrogena products at Boots at the moment so you might want to take advantage of that!!
What's your favourite skincare product?

MY WORKOUT ROUTINE

Hello! I've been seeing many videos on YouTube about workout routines and healthy eating. I've never been the kind of girl who loves working out and goes to the gym every single day. However, after Christmas I started working out regularly and to be honest I am enjoying it. I am even looking forward to the next time I get to go for a run or to the gym with my friends. Here's what I do when I go to the gym.

ABS. The first thing I do is abs, I usually do two sets of 30-40 Russian twists with a 4kg weight. Then I do two sets of 30 leg raises and two more sets of 30-40 oblique crunches.

SQUATS. After I'm done with abs I do squats. I do two sets of squats holding a 4kg weight.

ARMS. I don't always do arms but when I do I just pretend I know what I'm doing, I basically take two 3kg weights and try to do something.

CARDIO. I'm pretty boring when it comes to cardio, I normally just go on the treadmill and run for around 30min.

I normally go to the gym from one to three times a week depending on how busy I am. On the weekends if I wake up early I'll go for a 30min run in the morning to wake me up but that's not really often as I usually sleep in.

How often do you work out?

ITALY HAUL

Hello! If you've been reading my blog lately you probably know I went to Italy last month and, obviosuly, I did some shoppin. You cannot go to Milan and not go shopping, it's a must. I didn't go crazy because unfortunately my carry on was not Mary Poppins' bag and I could only fit so much stuff.
The first store I went to is H&M. Why would I go to H&M in Milan? I don't know, but everything seemed much nicer but it was probably my brain playing tricks on me. I picked up three things, my favourite being the black and white cardigan. It's the perfect cardigan for spring and it goes with pretty much everything. I love the leather detailing it has, I think it gives it a fancier look and makes it less boring.

I also picked up a bright yellow jumper that I've been wearing non stop lately. I don't have many colourful clothes (as in, my most colourful jumper was dark green) so I thought it would be a good addition to my wardrobe. Finally, I also picked up a simple white shirt. Surprisingly enough I didn't have any and had been looking for one for months but couldn't fine one that fit me properly.
I didn't buy any more clothes but I bought some stuff for my family. I bought some Dolcetti Veneciani, which are biscuits that have a characteristic flavour which I don't know how to describe but definitely remind me of something I've had before - wish I knew what! I wanted to buy a mask for my sister because I know she is really into room decor and I thought it would look good in her bedroom. However, when I asked her she told me she didn't buy one, she wanted a gondola. So I bought that little one for her.
As I've already said I din't go crazy or anything, just bought a few pieces and some souvenirs!
Have you bought anything recently?

OUT AND ABOUT: ITALY DAY 3

Hello! Sorry for the delay but the last post about Italy is finally up! This is day 3 and I spent 4 days but I left at noon  so all I did on my last day was taking the train back to Milan and going to the airport.

I spent my 3rd day exploring Venice with my friend. We went to have breakfast to a really good patisserie where I had something that looked like a giant biscuit with apricot jam, it was typical from Venice and it was delicious. Then we walked to Rio Alto and took loads of pictures (well I took loads of pictures) of all the beautiful canals. Also there was a street near Rialto with a lot of touristic stores that sold masks, pasta... I bought a small gondola for my sister  which was really cute.

Then we went to have lunch and I, of course, had pizza. After eating the biggest pizza of my life we went to Basilica di Sant Marco. I'm not a fan of churches, cathedrals, basilicas, etc. as my dad literally took me and my sister to every single one when we went to Paris a few years ago. However, I must say that this one was really beautiful and I wish I could have taken pictures inside.  Then we went to what I call 'the main road' because I have no idea what's the name of that street -I tried googling it but couldn't find it-, it was the main one and full of restaurants, stands and many many tourists. There I had some Italian Gelato and, if I'm being honest, I was expecting more. It was really good but I've had ice creams like that in Italian ice cream shops here in London so I was a bit disappointed. Finally, we just walked around Venice and she took me to her favourite spots in the city which were all lovely.

If you could travel anywhere in the world, where would you go?

HOW NOT TO STRESS OUT

Hello everyone! I am writing this post as I'm watching the new episodes of pretty little liars because I've got very little to no free time. In the next week I have three deadlines and three exams, on top of that I've got 5 hours of labs everyday this week and lectures as per usual. Doesn't it sound relaxing? It obviously isn't. In order not to die of a panic attack I like to do a few things to relax and get my mind off all those deadlines. I'm rather sure I'm not the only trying not to freak out so here's what I like to do to relax.

COOK. There's nothing better than a good meal to relax. It's not only necessary for your brain but it's also really nice to spend some time just cooking and distracting myself from the everything else. Also, I am not a professional chef so my meals are normally quite simple (i.e. sandwiches and cereal) which is why I really like spending some time making an actual meal.

EXERCISE. I don't really like sports but one thing I do like is running. I normally run for 30-40min and it really helps me to stop thinking about chemistry and uni stuff. Also, exercising is meant to make your body  release some kind of hormones that make you feel less stressed out and happier.

WATCH KEEPING UP WITH THE KARDASHIANS. I watch many TV shows but some of them require me to think more than others. KUWTK doesn't require me to use my brain at all whatsoever and that's really nice to be honest. Plus, the Kardashians' life is just too interesting not to watch the show. I can't wait for the next episode to air where, apparently, Kim tells her mom that she 'didn't buy Kendall a pair of shoes, she bought her a creer'... whaat?

SKYPE. Whenever I am taking short breaks from revision I like to call my family or my friends and talk to them for a while. As I only go home once every 3 months it's nice to talk to them and catch up.

HEALTHY FOODS || GETTING READY FOR SUMMER

Hello! With summer every day closer and winter slowly but firmly going away everyone's trying to eat healthy and work out to look their best in summer. Eating healthy is obviously important to keep your body functioning properly and have no health issues. However, with Ben&Jerry's, Nutella and other delicious and unhealthy foods out there it's surprisingly easy to loose all the willpower and cave in.
I am no food expert and I definitely don't have a 100% 'clean' diet, not even close. But I do try to eat somewhat healthy and avoid eating cereal as breakfast, lunch and dinner. I've got a few healthy foods that I really like and make this 'trying not to eat rubbish' thingy much easier.

BERRIES. I absolutely love berries, all kind of berries, any berries. During winter I usually restrain myself from buying then as they tend to be way overpriced but now that they are getting cheaper I can't get enough. They are packed with antioxidants, fibre and loads of vitamins. I love to add them to  my oatmeal, yoghurt or just eating them plain.
SWEET POTATOES. Such a classic, who hasn't at least heard of sweet potato fries? Everyone is obsessing over them and they have all the right to do so. It's basically a healthier and yummier version of regular potatoes. Pretty cool, right?

ALMOND BUTTER. Everyone is all about peanut butter but I am not a big fan of it, I much rather have almond butter. It literally tastes like nougat but it's healthy -it's packed with protein and healthy fats- as long as you eat it with moderation and don't go overboard.
OATS. Oatmeal, porridge... it doesn't matter what you call it, if you do it the right way it tastes delicious. I like to add almond milk, cinnamon, a bit of honey and berries. Sometimes I'll add cocoa powder, it literally tastes like cake.
BROCCOLI. Broccoli is the cutest vegetable, who doesn't want to eat little trees? Don't lie to yourself, you want to. It is perfect as a side or to add to your pasta.
What's you're favourite healthy food?

SPRING ESSENTIALS || FASHION

Hello!! I am delighted to say that the weather has been quite decent lately here in London, by decent I mean a high of 13 degrees which used to be winter for me a few years ago. Anyway, the lack of rain and the increase of temperatures have made me quite excited for spring (I know, we're not even close to spring yet but hey a girl can dream). Here are some of my fashion favourites/essentials for this upcoming spring!

INSURGENT WORLD PREMIERE + REVIEW

Hello guys! On Wednesday me and some friends got to go to the world premiere of Insurgent in London. It was my first time going to a premiere so I was pretty excited. I mean, Theo James was there. Life = made. I managed to get a few sneaky pictures of Theo James, Shailene Woodley, Veronica Roth and Jim Chapman (sorry in advance for the bad quality). However, I could not take any selfies with them as  our phones were taken away before entering the theatre to ensure we wouldn't record the movie.

Credit to Amita for taking this picture!

Insurgent premiere
The best thing about getting to go to the premiere though was getting to see the movie before it came out in cinemas. I am a big fan of the books and I loved the first movie so obviously I was pretty excited to see the second one. The movie was around 2 hours long which is pretty standard for any movie but it felt like it was much shorter. The movie really transports you into the world Veronica created and I feel like both Theo and Shai nailed their characters and make you feel the emotional pain they both go through in that movie.
The adaptation from the book is pretty good in my opinion. There are no massive fails and the storyline is very similar. Nevertheless I must say I read the book over a year ago and I can't remember it very well. There are a few scenes that I remembered a bit different but nothing major. I'm not going to of further into detail in case someone reading this hasn't read the book and wants to read it or watch the movie.
Overall I really enjoyed the movie and if you fancy going to the cinema sometime soon I wold definitely recommend it!
The movie comes out next Thursday in the UK, are you going to watch it?

HOW I EDIT MY INSTAGRAM PICTURES!

Hello! I am no editing expert but I do like taking my time to edit Instagram pictures. I don't do anything fancy or spend hours doing it, only a few minutes, but I thought I would share with you how I do it and what apps I use.

These are not all the photography apps I have but they are the ones I use somewhat often. AutoCamTimer is basically a timer, now that the iPhone camera has its one time I don't need it anymore but it used to be useful. Moldiv is what I use whenever I wanna make a collage, which is not very often.
My top 3 apps are VSCOcam, Squareready and Afterlight. Squaready is what I use to add the white borders when I don't want to crop  my picture into a square.
Squaready
VSCOcam used to be my all time favourite editing app before I got Afterlight. It is free and has a lot of cool filters and editing tools. When I use it, I normally apply the  filter C1 or T1. I also add some exposure and fading.
VSCOcam

My favourite app at the moment is Afterlight which I think is about 69cent. on the App Store so even though it's not free, it's basically free. It has so many filters you'll never use them all, it's impossible. First, I always increase the brightness and clarity. Then I apply a filter, my favourites are russ, leila, row and grove. Sometimes I also add a light leak, either  01 or 24.
Afterlight
And this is how I edit most of my Instagram pictures, as you can see I keep it quite simple - simple but effective!
What are your favourite apps?

ALEXA CHUNG || STYLE CRUSH

Hello guys! So after a few weeks without any 'Style Crush' posts I thought it was a good idea to finally write one. Today, I've chosen Alexa Chung as my style crush. If you don't know who she is, where do you hide? She's a British model and contributing editor to Vogue. I don't think I'm very wrong if I say her outfits are pretty much always on point - whether she's going to a fashion show or grocery shopping.
I collected my favourite outfits she's worn in the last year or so and put them all together for your enjoyment!

OUT AND ABOUT: ITALY DAY 2

Hello! Recently I posted my first Italy post (here) and as promised, here's the second one!
On day 2 we took an early morning train to Padova, where my friend's dad lives. He spoke Spanish so he explained me the history of the place and showed me around the town, which was absolutely beautiful! After lunch we went to this cafe where I ate a winning dessert (not too sure what it won but hey it won something!); I must say it was delicious!
Then we took another train and went to Venice which was very close to Padova. I didn't really know what to expect from Venice as some people had told me it was stunning and some other people had told me it wasn't that great. But the moment I stepped out of the station, I was amazed by the breathtaking view - picture 6.
Here are some of my favourite pictures I took that day!

Day 3 will be up soon!!
